By accessing or using WatchUm, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our service.

2. Description of Service

WatchUm provides access to public crime data from the local police department for residential properties in Austin, TX. We aggregate, organize, and present this publicly available information to help users make informed housing decisions.

3. Data Accuracy and Limitations

Important Disclaimers:

• Crime data is sourced from local police department public records
• Data is provided "as is" without warranties of completeness or accuracy
• Reported crimes may have occurred anywhere on or near the property
• Absence of reported crimes does not guarantee safety
• Data may have delays, errors, or omissions
• WatchUm is not responsible for decisions made based on this data

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the service only for lawful purposes
• Not use data for harassment, discrimination, or illegal activities
• Not scrape, copy, or redistribute our data without permission
• Provide accurate information when creating accounts
• Keep your account credentials secure

5. Payments and Refunds

House Hunter ($9.99 one-time):

• Full crime breakdown · 15 reports for up to 2 months
• Non-refundable once plan is activated

Resident ($1.99/month, billed annually):

• Full breakdown and email alerts for your designated residence
• Cancel anytime — no refunds for partial billing periods
• Automatically renews until cancelled

Professional ($39.99/month):

• Full breakdown everywhere, unlimited email alerts, full incident details
• Cancel anytime — no refunds for partial months
• Automatically renews until cancelled

6. Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.

7. Intellectual Property

WatchUm's design, code, branding, and presentation of data are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without permission.

8. Limitation of Liability

WatchUm is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for:

• Decisions made based on crime data
• Data errors, omissions, or delays
• Property damage, injury, or loss
• Service interruptions or downtime

9. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

• Use WatchUm data for tenant screening or employment decisions
• Violate Fair Housing laws or discriminate based on protected characteristics
• Scrape, automate, or bulk-download our data
• Resell or redistribute WatchUm data
• Reverse engineer or copy our service

10. Privacy

Your use of WatchUm is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We may also notify you by email or by posting a notice in the service, but we are not obligated to do so. Your continued use of WatchUm after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the service.

12. Service Discontinuation

We reserve the right to discontinue, suspend, or shut down WatchUm, in whole or in part, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. In the event of a permanent site closure:

• Active paid subscriptions will receive a prorated refund based on the unused portion of the current billing period, calculated from the closure date to the end of the period already paid for.
• House Hunter plans will be refunded on a prorated basis calculated from the closure date relative to the 60-day access window, provided at least one day of access remains unused.
• Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within a reasonable time following the closure date.
• WatchUm is not liable for any losses, damages, or costs arising from service discontinuation beyond the prorated refund described above.

13. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate your individual access to WatchUm at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason. Upon termination for cause, no refunds will be issued for remaining subscription time.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be resolved in Travis County, Texas.
